In March we honor Morocco’s independence from France on March 2, 1956. The distinctive cuisine of Morocco is considered one of the most diversified in the world, a result multi-cultural influences over the centuries, and focuses on the use of spices (such as saffron, cumin, turmeric, paprika, coriander and anise), fresh herbs, olives, fresh citrus, dried fruits and almond paste.

  1. Marrakesh Apricot Anise = orange blossom water + anise + dark chocolate + dried apricot

  2. Marrakesh, the fourth largest city in Morocco, is situated at the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and is bordered by the Sahara Desert to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The city is an oasis of great plant variety from acres of orchards and gardens, which supply the largest traditional market or souk in Morocco, located here in Marrakesh. This exotic truffle is a blend of dark chocolate with the fruit and spice of this special region.

  3. Tafraout Almond = salted almond + dark chocolate + roasted almonds

  4. The city of Tafraout, located in southern Morocco, is the home of the annual Moroccan Almond Tree Festival, one of the most popular festivals in Morocco. People from all over the country travel to this tiny village to witness and celebrate the bountiful blooming of the hundreds of almond trees that dot the landscape. This delicious truffle, bursting with almond flavor, is a tribute to this beautiful Moroccan tradition.

Now addicted to truffles March 7, 2017

This is my second order from Dear Coco.  We first tried the around the world collection, and were completely blown away.  Initially we were skeptical about the combination of the anise and dried apricot, but as the truffle melted the flavors combined to be quite delightful.  The toasted almonds in the Tafraout Almond slowly expand on the palate are perfectly balanced against the dark chocolate.
My wife has a severe milk allergy and had never had a truffle.  She has made do with mostly dark chocolate bars, which are fine, but not as complex and smooth as truffles.  You should have seen her eyes light up when she first bit into one.  The delicate aromas and complex flavor combinations in combination with the smooth creaminess of the center floored her.  You now have a customer for life.  I challenge anyone to notice these little bombs of delight are vegan.  Thank you Dear Coco for bringing an experience to my wife's life that she honestly never thought she would get to enjoy.

Delicious dark chocolate with very identifiable flavors underneath (e.g. the apricot. etc.)
